As a parent, you know that young teens are naturally fascinated by collecting and are just beginning to learn about ancient cultures. Collecting ancient coins can be the start of a life-long hobby where the learning literally never stops.
Your school's Social Studies program will be greatly enriched by Hands-On-History, and we hope your PTA/PTSA organization will support it. Please let us know if your school has not received one of our sales brochures and we will be happy to mail to the appropriate party.
In addition to the use of ancient coins in the classroom, this website as well as our other site at Edward J. Waddell, Ltd. offers a wide variety of ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine coins and books about them which can bring the learning into the home.
The coins which we offer as part of our teaching kits at Teacher kits are also available individually for home use. The coins in this section are each packaged with an attractive laminated graphic organizer which provides historical information about the coin and will fit in your child's binder.
Ancient history students aren't the only ones who benefit from the study of coins. These "windows to the past" can enhance the historical appreciation of all members of your school community. We believe that the PTA/PTSA can play an important role in informing parents and educators about a fascinating learning advernture that the whole family can enjoy.
